CAPE VERDE
We recommend you play it by ear. Arriving in Sao Vicente you stay in a hotel for the night. We can set that up for you (per request) or you can book online. There are a couple of nice places to stay, usually never a problem as far as availability. As plans change with water and weather conditions we recommend being flexible so we can cover ground and check some other spots out, to have the best fishing possible! We will book the place to stay that morning unless we are staying on the boat. Below we have attached links to some of our favorite places to stay!
WHERE TO STAY
Mindelo Cabo Verde
Santo Antão
We put the boat on the mooring ball. The clients go in, have a drink, watch the sunset as the crew cleans the boat for the next day, and then we all gather for dinner. Unless you are staying on the boat, you will be on the mooring with the crew. Star indicates the loaction of the mooring.
São Nicolau
If you are staying at Way Point, we drop clients off on a bulkhead. Taxi waiting for you to take you to Way Point.
If you're staying at Tenakish Hotel you are within walking distance. Same deal- we come in, have dinner, and talk fishing and game plans for the next few days.
Getting to Cape Verde:
From the United States, you can get a domestic flight from your city (United, Delta, American, etc)
To Newark Airport (EWR)
From EWR you take a flight on TAP AIR PORTUGAL to Lisbon Portugal (LIS)
From Lisbon, you will get on your connecting flight to Sao Vicente (VXE)
EWR-> LIS-> VXE (TAP AIR)
Heading back to the United States:
Leaving the island you will fly back to Lisbon usually for an overnight layover (you do not have to re-check your bags in the morning they will go all the way through until you get to customs and re-check them depending) The city is beautiful (wine is awesome and cheap) grab some dinner at a local seafood restaurant or steak house! Grab a taxi head to the airport, go through TSA jump on your flight recharged the morning, and make your way to (EWR) NEWARK and back to wherever home is for you!
